Julie has been immersed in music since she was a little girl. Starting piano lessons at the age of five and continuing lessons into her college years and singing her first solo at the age of three. She left the “corporate world” in 2003 to open a music studio in her home in California. After 18 years of teaching in California, she, her husband, Mick, and all their pets moved to Tennessee. It was heart-breaking to leave her students, yet she is still in contact with most of them. Some have even come for summer visits. Julie loves playing the piano, singing, leading worship, and teaching. Julie teaches to each student’s needs and does not have a cookie cutter way of doing things. Every student learns differently, and it is important to her to find that place where the student really clicks. Julie believes that every family, every child, every adult, should be given the opportunity to have the joy of music in their life.
“We try to treat customers like we’ve known them forever even if we’ve just met. I think that’s what sets us apart from other music stores. We’re family-owned and operated and make a point to treat every customer just like family. Obviously, I’m biased, but that’s what makes us so great. When you leave here, we want you to be happy about whatever just happened—whether you bought something, got a repair or took a lesson.” - James Hedges
